Challenge Me
Living with chronic illness has changed the way I approach some things, but it hasn’t taken away my curiosity, determination or willingness to try.
Challenge Me is an invitation for you to suggest something for me to attempt.
It might be active, adventurous, creative, something I’ve never tried before, or simply something that makes me wonder, Can I still do that?
I may need to adapt the challenge, approach it differently, take more time or recognise that some days my body has other plans.
Not every challenge will go perfectly — and that’s part of the point.
Why Challenge Me?
After years of illness, surgeries, recovery and setbacks, it can be easy to focus on the things that have changed or the things we think we can no longer do.
I want to challenge that thinking in my own life.
By giving things a go and sharing the experience honestly — including the preparation, adaptations, difficult moments, successes and occasional failures — I hope to show that limitations can change how we participate without always deciding whether we participate.
I also hope it encourages someone else to try something they have been thinking about.
Have a challenge for me?
If there’s something you think I should try, I’d love to hear your idea.
Challenges should be realistic, safe and achievable with appropriate preparation or adaptation. I’ll consider each suggestion based on my health, abilities, circumstances and any risks involved.
I may not be able to take on every suggestion, but you never know — yours might become my next challenge.
What should I try next? 💜👣
