ABOUT

My2FeetandIBD was founded by Leah Turton in Australia to share lived experience, raise awareness, advocate for greater understanding and build connection around Crohn’s disease, IBD, chronic illness and invisible illness.

Lived Experience. Awareness. Advocacy. Connection.

Welcome—I’m Leah, the person behind My2FeetandIBD. 💜👣

My2FeetandIBD grew from my own experience of living with Crohn’s disease, navigating surgeries, scars, recovery and the everyday challenges that others don’t always see.

What began as sharing my personal journey has grown into a platform for raising awareness, sharing lived experiences, advocacy, community connection and creating more inclusive opportunities for people living with chronic illness, invisible conditions and disability.

At its heart is a simple hope: to help people feel heard, understood and less alone.

Making space for our stories

My experiences with Crohn’s disease, Long QT Syndrome and Endometriosis shape my passion for greater understanding, inclusion and equal opportunities to participate in life.

Through honest conversations, creative storytelling, community projects, advocacy and awareness, I want to make room for the whole experience—the good days, the tough days, the achievements and everything in between.

You don’t have to be positive all the time or prove how strong you are to belong here.

Turning lived experience into connection

Across My2FeetandIBD, you’ll find projects that bring this purpose to life:

💜 Stronger Together — creating opportunities for people affected by chronic and invisible illness to connect, share experiences and feel supported.

📱 Good Days, Tough Days — a personal wellbeing and symptom tracker designed to help people reflect on their days, notice patterns and record the information that matters to them.

👣 Show Your Survival – Proud of My Scars — encouraging pride in what people have survived, whether their scars are visible or invisible.

💜 We Are Not Invisible — raising awareness of the realities people live with that others may never see.

📖 Your Voice — giving people a place to share their own lived experiences and stories.

🔎 Conditions A–Z — helping people discover and understand chronic, invisible and other health conditions they may know little about.

🌏 Our Adventures — sharing photos and videos of experiences for people who may be unable to travel themselves, or who simply need something uplifting on a difficult day.

💪 Challenge Me — challenging the idea that chronic illness automatically means “I can’t.” Through real-life challenges, adventures, setbacks and achievements, I share how adapting, taking things at your own pace and finding another way can still make participation possible.

🎬 What You Don’t See — creative stories exploring the experiences behind chronic and invisible illness.

🎙️ No Shame, Just Crohn’s — honest conversations about life with IBD and the things people don’t always talk about.

My passion for inclusive sport also connects with my work through Cassowary Coast Inclusive Taekwon-Do, creating opportunities for people with different abilities, circumstances and starting points to participate and belong.

The person behind the platform

There’s plenty more to me than my diagnoses.

I love the outdoors, Taekwon-Do, camping, snorkelling, fishing, travel, gardening, music, arts and crafts—and animals of every size.

I’m curious about people, wellbeing and the strange and unusual. I’ll give almost anything a go, especially if there’s a little adventure involved!

These interests remind me that living with illness can change how we pursue our passions, but those passions still matter.

Raising awareness and advocating through lived experience

Alongside the projects within My2FeetandIBD, I use my own lived experience to advocate for greater understanding, inclusion and participation.

I’m available for speaking opportunities, awareness campaigns, community events and conversations that help bring the realities of IBD, chronic illness, invisible illness and disability into the open.

You are also welcome to be part of this space—share your story through Your Voice, suggest a condition for the A–Z collection, join a community initiative, or get in touch about an awareness campaign, project, event, collaboration or speaking opportunity.

My2FeetandIBD is grounded in lived experience and peer connection. The content and tools here support understanding and reflection; they do not replace professional medical advice or care.

Together, we can make more room for understanding, participation and belonging.

Your Pace is Progress! No Matter how Fast or Slow You Go!

Raising awareness with you. 💜👣
